  • 2007 Autumn Open Space Walk
  • On Sept. 30 Three Locations were open and toured by as many as 200 people!
This walk was a great success and if you didn't make it this year, try to make it next year. The weather was spectacular and the walks were well-attended, with Rauscher Farm getting the most visitors. The Rauscher Farm and Brandli parcels are, of course private property, with the town not having purchased the Rauscher Farm yet, and the Brandli parcel leased by Clinton Fish and Game. Both private parties graciously gave us permission to tour their land. The Mossy Pond Peninsula is open to the public year-round, so we have left the description here so you can take a walk there on the next beautiful fall day.
  • Mossy Pond Peninsula
The Mossy Pond Peninsula is a 17+ acre parcel that is currently owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. This parcel was purchased by the Commonwealth for protected open space in exchange for the Town of Clinton placing additional conservation restrictions on the Wekepeke Reservoir. This parcel includes Blueberry Island, a floating island in Mossy Pond.
Directions: From Main Street turn onto New Harbor Rd. Continue Straight on Pine Street. At the stop sign at Woodlawn and Pine continue on Pine Street. Take the next left onto Pine Street Extension. Continue onto Rogers Field Way and take this to the end. Parking is somewhat limited. Please carpool or walk if possible. Be careful not to block driveways.
