The purpose of the Clinton Greenway Conservation Trust is to preserve the natural landscape, ecological diversity, and scenic beauty of the Town of Clinton by protecting open space and by conserving it for public enjoyment and appreciation of nature.
Goals
  • Practice conservation through stewardship, acquisition of title, conservation easements, and encouraging other conservation restrictions.
  • Facilitate public access to conserved spaces.
  • Practice land stewardship for conserved spaces.
  • Advocate for conservation land-use planning.
  • Work with other land trusts, government agencies, watershed associations, educational institutions, and other organizations with similar interests.
How We Have Made a Difference
  • South Meadow Pond Conservation Area
  • Blueberry Island Conservation Area (Facilitator) - Town of Clinton allowed additional conservation restrictions on town owned Wekepeke Reservoir in exchange for purchase of Mossy Pond parcel for open space.
  • Counterpane Brook Wetland Conservation Area - Worked with builder and planning board to ensure preservation of wetland area.
  • Rauscher Farm - Formed sub-group Friends of Rauscher Farm to promote value of open space in Clinton resulting in successful purchase of Rauscher Farm for conservation, preservation, and enjoyment by the public.
